Process and Celebrate 2018, and Look Forward to 2019 with God through Painting

Paint Your Year Workshop

What if you could remember the good that happened in 2018, the challenges you faced, the lessons you learned, and could look forward to 2019 with peace?  This workshop is designed to help you do that....

The focus of the Paint Your Year Workshop is to process your year, celebrate it, and look forward to 2019 with a lens through which to guide you in decision making through a theme that God gives you.  By processing, celebrating your current year and look forward to the next year, you can let go of the past, hold onto what God wants you to know, and remember your year in a positive way, while moving forward into the next. During this 3 hour workshop, participants can paint a warm-up painting exercise followed by 3 paintings.

Paint Your Year Background

The Paint Your Year Workshop was developed by Anna Elliott, as a response to knowing that she needed to process her year with God to be able to acknowledge what happened, both great and hard, to remember the great, to see the good in the hard, and to move forward in a way that helped her apply what she had learned, and grow in a new way in the next year, with God (instead of relearning what lessons she had forgotten, feeling aimless and not knowing the direction God wanted her to go).

What is Paint Your Year?

Paint Your Year is an experiential workshop designed to help you process your year, celebrate it, and look forward to the next year, right before the New Year, so we can start the new year ready for what is in store for us.

The goal is to acknowledge what has happened, challenges and victories,

to know the themes of this year, and to know the lens for next year and

to be able to look forward to 2019 with God and without dread or

fear of the unknown or dwelling on the unresolved past.

It is also designed to help you process your year in a positive

and more complete way, than just thinking about the past year,

than just journalling about it, but actually releasing it through painting.

It is designed to help you enjoy the beginning of the year, instead of

spending that time adjusting/transitioning simply because

you don't have the meaning in terms of this past year, aren't satisfied

because you haven't celebrated what you have accomplished or learned,

and aren't clear about what God wants you to focus on for this season.

Maybe you struggle to find the time to process your year.  Maybe you tend to be vision oriented, focusing on where you want to go, ir your goals, and forget to celebrate what you have done or experienced.  Maybe you dread the next year, because you have no idea what is in store for you, and feel aimless, and want clarity from God on what to do next.  This workshop gives you dedicated time and an experience to address each of those aspects in a way that supports you for starting off the next year well.

Each person's Paint Your Year experience is unique to them.  It is your opportunity to hear from God and paint what you need to paint, which can be realized by you during the workshop.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for individuals interested in completing their year, and knowing its meaning and impact on you and others and starting the next year strong, with clarity and purpose.  This workshop is an opportunity for you to explore the meaning of this year and focus of the next.  This is also the opportunity to document your previous year, how it has impacted you, and also what it means to you specifically.

What if I am not an artist or a painter?

No artistic talent is required for this workshop.  This workshop focuses on the meaning behind the painting.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Paint Your Year is the art workshop version of what I do on a yearly basis. I needed a way to acknowledge the year, great and challenging, remember the lessons, appreciate the challenges and the purpose behind them, celebrate the accomplishments (even if just lots of lessons) and learn from God what He wanted me to know as my theme for the next year.  So I could have clarity, be a good steward of my resources, and start the year walking in step with Him and not focused on the past.

I hope you find this workshop as meaningful and helpful in your understanding the meaning and purpose behind this past year, celebrate what you have been through, and know what lens through which to see this next year so you can do be in alignment with Him and do what God has made you to do."
