The focus of the Paint the Story Workshop is to connect to your God stories through painting. In this workshop, we spend time thinking about situations we have been in that God has been involved with, and paint the story with the reminder of what God did in that story, or what God's perspective is about that story. During this 3 hour workshop, participants can paint a warm-up painting exercise followed by 3 paintings.
Paint the Story Background
The Paint the Story Workshop was developed by Anna Elliott, as a response to God's call on her life to document God's involvement in the stories of her life. It started as a scrapbook back in college, then morphed into a book idea, then into paintings, and then into the workshop.
What is Paint the Story?
Paint the Story is an experiential workshop designed to help you remember when faced with tough situations, that God is with you, that He sees you and that He is involved in your life.
What do I mean by God stories? I mean our personal stories where
God is involved in someway. We may notice it at the time, we may not.
Even if we notice it at the time, we may forget. We are not talking life
stories here, but much shorter stories, dots that can be later connected
to create an overall arch of your life.
The goal is to experience a deeper connection with God in tough times
because you remember the times before when we was with you and
involved in your life, so you can keep the faith and run the race.
It is also designed to help you see and remember your past through the lens of God's perspective and further your understanding of what God is doing in your life.
Each person's Paint the Story experience is unique to them.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for individuals interested in having a deeper connection with God's involvement in their lives, remembering what God has done for them personally in their life. This workshop is an opportunity for you to explore God's perspective of you and the stories of your life, as a future reminder for encouraging yourself. This is also the opportunity to document your stories for retelling and encouraging others.
What if I am not an artist or a painter?
No artistic talent is required for this workshop. This workshop focuses on the meaning behind the painting.
